Summer Shots

I keep running into people who say they still check this blog so I guess it is time for some more photos. We visited Jon in Boulder last May, but now Nick has moved there too for the fall anyway. So this picture of the two of them seems appropriate, even if a few months old.

Then I thought we ought to have a picture show of some of the recent animal life around the house. There was a bobcat that ran across the street a couple of days ago but I missed that shot.

Finally, we have the latest summer contest-'Who can name this mystery plant?'. Please post your entries under the comment section. Some background info; I thought it was a penstomen seedling, until it started growing upward; it is now at least 4 feet tall; the stem is as thick as a man's thumb; I actually saw a few others growing along a wash several miles south of here; one of those had small, yellow and white tubular flowers on it.
