Home Again

We are back from our vacation just in time for some more rain. Not much here but the thunder and lighening show was fun to watch.Below are some pictures from our vacation. Our daughter joined us part way through our trip and interviewed for a job in Boston. She got the job and after a quick trip here to pack up she will become another 'Massachusetts Layton'. Today we took a hike in Sabino Canyon. We wanted to get a first hand look at the destruction and changes. Unfortunately most of it was still closed so we did not get to see or take pictures of very much. They are repairing one section of the road and then will open more up for hikers. So maybe I'll have photos in a few weeks.

These are Dave's aunt and uncle, Jean and Bill Sommers, celebrating their 65th anniversary. This event was the primary impetus for our trip East this year. 

One of the other reasons we like to go to the East coast! We took a day trip to Vermont and New Hampshire to see the fall colors. A bit early but these were pretty good.

This is where a wall of water and boulders washed out the road in Sabino Canyon the day we got our 6 inches of rain in July. 

This is actually showing some of the destuction in Sabino Canyon, but I thought the saguaro shadow was spectacular.
